We’ve been here at Himachal Bhavan Sanjauli for quite a while now. Most people around here know where St Xavier High School is because we’re right in the middle of things. It’s just a normal school where kids come to learn their subjects and hang out with their friends in the hallways. Our building isn't anything fancy, but it does the job and keeps everyone out of the rain and cold. We have teachers who show up every morning and get through the lessons, and the students seem to manage alright. Some days it's loud when the bell rings and everyone is rushing to get home, while other times it's quiet enough to hear the birds outside. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a place for classes and exams. The local families send their children here because it's convenient and they know what to expect. We keep the classrooms clean, more or less, and try to make sure the desks aren't too wobbly. Life here follows the same routine week after week. You’ll see the same faces every morning at the gate. We are just part of the neighborhood, really. If you walk past Himachal Bhavan in Sanjauli, you’ll see our sign and probably hear some kids playing during their break. Sometimes the fog rolls in and makes the whole school look a bit different, but the work continues inside regardless. That is pretty much what goes on here every day. It isn't complicated or special, just a regular school.
