Shemrock Kelston KIDS

We’ve been running this little place at R-1 in the Housing Board Colony for a while now. Kelston is a nice part of Shimla, though the hills can make the walk a bit tiring if you aren't used to it. Being located in Bharari, we get a lot of local families bringing their toddlers to us. The building itself is just a regular house that we've set up for the kids. It’s not one of those big, modern schools you see in the city center. We have small rooms with colorful mats and some basic toys. My day usually starts early, getting the rooms ready before the parents drop their children off on their way to work. There isn't a big playground here, but there's a bit of space for them to move around. The weather here in Shimla gets quite cold in the winter months, so we spend a lot of time making sure the heaters are working right. It’s a simple life here. We teach the kids some songs, let them draw, and help them with their snacks. Sometimes the monkeys outside get a bit loud, which the kids find funny. We don't really do much advertising. Most people just know us because they live down the street or heard about us from a neighbor. It’s just a small team of us looking after the little ones every day. We try to keep things tidy, but with kids, there is always a bit of a mess by noon.
