Rajapur Swabhimani Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited

The group here at Rajapur Swabhimani Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited is mostly made up of women from around Dhopeshwar. We usually meet up at Suvarna Mahadev Mulam's house, which is House No.254. It is easier that way because we all live nearby in the Rajapur area anyway. We started this because we wanted a way to manage our own crops and work without having to rely on outside people for everything. Most of us have our own small plots of land or we help out on family farms. It is a lot of work balancing the farming with everything else we have to do at home, but we are used to it. Sometimes the house gets pretty crowded when everyone shows up for a meeting, but we get things done. We deal with whatever is growing in the season, mostly things that do well in this soil. It is not just about the plants though, it is about having a place where we can talk about the prices and how to get the transport sorted. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. Just a simple setup where we can keep our records and plan for the next harvest. It feels good to have something of our own. Some days are tougher than others, especially when the weather doesn't go our way, but we just keep going and supporting each other.
