Prabhuratn Producer Company Limited is located at Bangar Wadi in Pulkoti, which is part of the Man taluka in Satara. This region is famous for being tough. The land is rocky and the rain is never enough, but we make do. Our address is at house number 359, and it’s a place where you’ll usually find someone drinking tea and looking at the sky. We are just local people who decided to pool our resources. There’s no corporate ladder here, just a bunch of guys who know how to handle a plow. We started this because we needed a way to get our produce to market without losing everything to middlemen. Some days are better than others. Last year the harvest was light, so we spent a lot of time just planning for the next season. The office is really just a room where we keep our files and meet up after the sun goes down. We don’t have a website with fancy photos or a logo designed by an agency. Our logo is basically just our name on a board outside. Life in Satara is about being practical and staying grounded. We don’t promise anything big, we just try to keep things moving. Most of our members are from the surrounding wadis, and we’ve known their families for generations. It’s more like a big family than a business, really, and we take it one day at a time.
