Mpkv Agricos Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group, Mpkv Agricos Farmer Producer Company Limited, is set up in Katgun, which is in the Khatav taluka of Satara district. You can find us at Tanaji Sawala Gaikwad’s place, Sr.No 12. Most of us who started this went to the same agricultural schools or have been farming next to each other for years. We wanted to put our heads together to see if we could make a bit more of a living from the ground. Satara has its own way of doing things, and Katgun is a small place where news travels fast. We don't have a big staff or a fancy website. It’s mostly just Tanaji and a few of us sitting around after the day's work is finished, trying to figure out the paperwork for the government or checking on fertilizer prices. The name is a bit of a mouthful, but we just call it the company when we’re talking in the village. It’s tough work, especially when the rains don't come when they should, but having a collective like this means no one has to deal with the big buyers entirely on their own. We share what we know and try to help the younger farmers who are just starting out. It’s a local effort, through and through. We are just people from the Sr.No 12 area trying to keep our traditions going while adapting to the new rules.
