Khatav Taluka Baliraja Farmer Producer Company Limited is run out of Ishwar Dnyandeo Jadhav’s place, which is house number 429 in Gurasale. It is a quiet village, but we stay busy with the work that comes with the seasons. We started this group because the individual farmers in Khatav taluka were having a tough time with the middlemen. By coming together as a producer company, we can handle our own seeds and sales much better. The house at number 429 is where we keep the files and meet up when there is news to share. We don’t have a big marketing budget or any fancy offices. It is mostly just us sitting on the porch or in the front room discussing the price of wheat or what fertilizer to use this time around. The work is physically tiring and the money isn't always great, but it feels better to be working for ourselves. We are just neighbors helping each other out in Gurasale. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when the harvest starts coming in all at once, but we manage to get through it. We aren't experts in business, but we know farming. If you are looking for us, just ask anyone in the village for Ishwar’s house. We are usually there or out in the fields somewhere nearby. It’s a simple life and a simple business.
