Jay Mahatmaji Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Khamgaon. We operate from Narayan Kacharu Gaike’s place, which is house number 205. It’s in the Kannad area of Aurangabad. This company was started by a group of us who are actually farming in this district. We decided to get together to make things a bit easier for everyone in the village. It is a local effort. We don't have a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. Instead, we meet up at the house and talk about what needs to be done for the season. Being in a small place like Khamgaon means everyone knows everyone else. We focus on the practical side of things, like getting seeds or talking about the market prices. Sometimes the weather doesn't help us much, but we keep going anyway. It is hard work being a farmer producer company because there is always a lot of paperwork the government wants. We try our best to keep up with it. Our families have been in this area for a long time. We just wanted a way to work together formally. It’s just a group of farmers trying to figure things out as we go. We are usually out in the fields during the day and handle the company business when there is a bit of spare time. It’s not a glamorous job, but it feels right for our community here in Aurangabad.
