We are based in a small village called Jaigaon in the Khatav taluka of Satara. Our office is actually at Mangaldas Hanumant Deshmukh’s house, number 955. We are a producer company, which is really just a way for us local farmers to work together instead of trying to do everything on our own. It’s hard to get a good price for your crops when you’re just one person. So, we formed this group to help each other out with seeds, equipment, and finding buyers for our harvest. Most of us grew up here and have been farming these same fields for our whole lives. We don’t have a fancy building or a boardroom. Most of our meetings happen on the porch or under a tree near the fields. We talk about what’s growing well and what problems we’re having with the soil or the weather. The paperwork for the company can be a bit overwhelming for us, but we take turns trying to figure it out. It’s a very hands-on way of doing things. We aren't trying to build a famous brand; we just want to make sure the farming stays viable for the next generation. Sometimes the rains don't come when they should, and things get stressful for everyone in the group. But being together makes it a bit easier to manage.
