Global English Medium School & Junior College

Our place is in Umbraj, which is a quiet enough area near Karad. It is both a school and a junior college, so we have a mix of younger kids and the older ones who are starting to think about their futures. The building is right there on the main stretch, and you can’t really miss it if you’re passing through. It’s a plain concrete structure, nothing too special to look at, but it’s sturdy. Inside, it’s usually quite noisy until the bell rings. We have the standard classrooms with benches that have seen better days. The junior college students tend to hang out near the entrance during their breaks, while the younger ones are usually running around the back. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes off the hills. We handle the English medium side of things, which keeps us busy with all the paperwork and making sure the students are actually speaking English in the halls. It’s a lot of work keeping everything organized. The staff room is always full of tea cups and stacks of notebooks that need marking. We don't really do big fancy events, just the usual sports day and some local festivals. People around Umbraj know us as the local spot for schooling. It’s just a practical place for the kids in this part of the district to get their lessons done without much fuss.
