Azad Vidyalaya & Junior College, Kasegaon

Azad Vidyalaya & Junior College is located in Kasegaon, which falls under the Walwa taluka in Sangli. It’s a well-known spot in this part of Maharashtra. We have been here for a long time, and many of the parents who bring their kids here actually went to this school themselves back in the day. We have both the school and the junior college on the same site, so we have students ranging from young kids to those who are almost adults. The campus is pretty large with several different blocks for the various classes. I spend a lot of time walking between the different sections to make sure everything is in order. It is a busy place, especially in the mornings when the local buses drop off students from all over the Sangli district. We have a playground that gets a lot of use for kabaddi and other sports. The canteen serves basic tea and snacks, and it's usually crowded during the breaks. It’s a very traditional kind of setup we have here. We don't go in for anything flashy. It is just about providing a place for the local youth of Kasegaon to get through their schooling and move on to whatever comes next. It’s a big part of the local life here and we just keep it going. Most of the buildings have been standing for decades.
