Sathikuchi Janata High School

Our school is over in Jadhavwadi, which is part of Phaltan. If you know the Birdevnagar area, you’ll find us easily enough. It’s a local school for the families around here. Most of the kids walk to school from the nearby houses. The building has been here for years and shows a bit of age, but it works for what we need. We spend our days teaching the older students. There’s always a bit of noise from the classrooms during the afternoon. The staff room is small and we usually share tea during the break. Satara gets a bit chilly in the winter mornings, so the kids wear their sweaters. We don't have any big flashy signs, just the name painted on the wall. The playground gets quite busy during recess. Sometimes the ball goes over the fence and we have to go get it. We handle the paperwork in a little room near the entrance. It's a simple setup. Sathikuchi Janata High School isn't trying to be anything fancy. We just open the gates every morning and stay until the last student leaves. It's a lot of work keeping things running in Jadhavwadi, but it's what we do. The local shops know us well. It's just a regular part of the community here in Phaltan. We just keep the doors open and do our job.
