Our setup for Future Phaltan Farmer Producer Company Limited is right near the Jay Malhar Dhaba in Gokhali. Chandrakant Anandrao Kashid is the one who handles a lot of the day-to-day stuff at number 108. Being near the dhaba means there is always noise from the trucks and the smell of spicy food in the air. It’s a busy spot, which is good because people know where to find us. We aren't a big corporation with a tall building. We’re just local farmers from Phaltan who wanted to do something together. Most of our meetings happen with the sound of the highway in the background. We talk about sugarcane, pomegranate, and whatever else is growing in the fields nearby. The sun in Phaltan can be really harsh, so we do most of our heavy work early or late. Inside the office, it’s mostly just shelves full of folders and a computer that takes forever to start up. We don't have any scripted speeches or polished sales pitches. We just tell it like it is. If the crop is good, we’re happy. If the pests are bad, we worry. We are just trying to make sure the farmers in Gokhali and the rest of Phaltan get a fair deal. It’s hard work, and sometimes we wonder why we took on all this extra paperwork, but then we see it helping and it feels like we are doing something right.
