Our school is right there on Mandi Link Road in Chavara, Sangrur. It’s a busy little stretch of road, especially during the harvest season when the trucks are moving. The building itself has been part of the community for a good while. You can hear the kids reciting their lessons if you walk by at the right time. We don't have all the bells and whistles of those big city schools, but we have enough rooms and a decent yard for the children to run around in. It gets dusty, and we are always sweeping the floors, but that’s just part of being in Sangrur. Most of the staff live nearby, so we all know each other’s families. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too high and the classrooms get too warm. There is a lot of routine here—assembly, classes, a quick lunch, and then more classes. We have our fair share of broken chalk and squeaky chairs. It’s a simple setup on the link road. Parents drop their kids off on bikes or walk them to the gate. We keep the books in the office and try to stay on top of the registrations. It is just a regular school where we try to get through the syllabus every year without too much fuss. It isn't always perfect, and sometimes things get disorganized, but we keep the doors open every day.
