Kalgidhar International School

Way out in Purana Sahlla, things are pretty peaceful, and that’s where Kalgidhar International School is located. It’s a village setting in Sangrur, so you don’t have all that city noise and traffic to deal with every morning. The air is clear and you can see the farms right from the school gate. We started this place because the local families needed somewhere close by for their children. The building is solid and we’ve added a few rooms over the years as more kids started coming from the surrounding areas. Inside, it’s nothing too fancy—just desks, chairs, and plenty of space for the children to learn their lessons. We have a small playground that gets a lot of use, and the grass is usually a bit worn down in the spots where the kids play the most. The teachers are local people too, so they understand the way of life here. We don’t go in for big ceremonies or anything like that. We just open the doors early, get the classes started, and make sure everyone is safe and doing what they’re supposed to be doing. Sometimes a tractor rumbles past on the road outside, but otherwise, it’s just the sound of voices and books. It’s a simple life here in the village, and the school is just another part of that daily rhythm, keeping things grounded and practical for everyone involved.
