It’s pretty quiet out here in Chappar most mornings until the buses start rolling in. Anand Isher Senior Secondary Public School is right by the Village and Post Office, so we see the mail carrier coming and going all day long. The building is just a normal school building, nothing too fancy, but it holds a lot of history for the folks living around here. We spend a lot of time just keeping up with the daily stuff, like making sure the grounds are tidy and the classrooms are ready before the sun gets too high. Here, you hear the sounds from the village throughout the day. Sometimes a tractor goes by or you hear the birds in the trees near the post office. We’ve been at this for a while now, and the routine hasn't changed much. It’s about getting the kids inside, getting through the lessons, and making sure the place stays standing. There's always some maintenance to do, a window that won't shut right or a desk that needs fixing. We just get on with it. It’s a simple life out here in Chappar, and the school is just part of that landscape, tucked away where the air is a bit clearer than in the towns nearby.
