Ushakothi Agro Producer Company Limited

Ushakothi Agro Producer Company Limited is based in Sambalpur, specifically in Ward number 6 of Bandhabahal. We use Bijaya Kathar’s place as our home base. It’s in the Kulundi and Padibahal area. We are a bunch of local farmers who decided that being a company was better than being alone. It helps us deal with the buyers and the suppliers. We don't have a fancy office building. Most of our work happens out in the fields or under a tree when we take a break. We meet at Bijaya’s house to settle the accounts and plan for the next season. Farming in Sambalpur has its own set of challenges, especially with the weather being so unpredictable lately. We try to look out for each other. If someone’s crop is failing, we see what can be done to help. We don't use corporate slogans or try to look bigger than we are. We’re just a small group of hardworking people. Our hands are usually dirty and our clothes are worn, but that’s just how it is when you work the earth. We focus on getting the best results from our plots of land. It’s a straightforward life. We don't have time for complicated things. We just want to grow good food and make sure our families are taken care of. That’s what Ushakothi is all about for us folks here. We just take it one day at a time and hope for rain.
