Kuchinda Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited

Up here in Sambalpur, specifically in the Satkama village near Mahulpalli, we spend most of our time out in the dirt. Kuchinda Agro is just a group of farmers who live around here. We work out of Gangaram Bagh’s place because it’s central for everyone. Farming in this part of Orissa is what we know. It is not an easy job and the sun gets really hot some months. We started this producer company because it felt like a good idea to work together instead of everyone just doing their own thing. Sometimes we talk about what crops are doing well and what we should try next season. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and that the harvest is decent. It’s a lot of manual labor, really. You’ll see us out there in the mornings before the heat gets too bad. We deal with all sorts of things like pests, water issues, and getting the right tools. Sometimes we share equipment if someone’s breaks down. It's a small community and everyone knows each other's names. We just do our work, keep our heads down, and try to get the produce to where it needs to go without too much trouble. It is a simple life but it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
