Delhi Public School

Delhi Public School in Sambalpur is actually on the second floor of Varun Plaza on Jharsuguda Road. Being in a plaza means it’s a bit different from your typical school with a huge campus. We have the whole floor though, so there is enough space for the classrooms. The stairs can be a bit of a climb if the lift is busy, but it keeps everyone moving. Outside, Jharsuguda Road is always busy with trucks and cars going by, so there’s a bit of a hum in the background. We have several rooms set up for the students with regular chairs and tables. The windows look out over the road and the nearby shops. It’s a practical location because it’s easy for parents to get to. We spend our mornings setting up the lessons and making sure the water cooler is filled. The staff room is small and usually has a few tea cups sitting around. We don’t use any complicated systems, just some registers to keep track of who is here. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the hallways during the lunch break, but we manage. The building is made of concrete and stays fairly cool even when the sun is hitting the plaza. We’ve been here for a while and most of the shopkeepers downstairs know us by now. It’s just a regular school day for us in the middle of Sambalpur.
