Government Women'S (Degree) College

This is a government college for women located here in Sambalpur. We have been providing degree courses to the local girls for many years. The campus is spread out with several wings for different subjects. Since it is a government institution, we follow all the state regulations and calendars. The students come from all over the district. Some live in the hostel nearby and others commute every day. It is a safe environment where everyone knows each other. The classrooms are large with high ceilings and old fans. In the summer, it gets quite hot, but we manage. We have a common room where the girls sit and talk during their free periods. The office handles all the admissions and exam forms. It can be a slow process sometimes because there is a lot of paperwork to deal with. Our staff includes many long-time employees who understand the system well. We have a small library with textbooks that students can borrow. The grounds have some old trees and a few benches. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except during the festivals or college functions. We don't have a lot of modern luxuries, but the teaching gets done. Most students here are working hard to finish their degrees so they can start their careers or move on to higher studies. We have a small garden near the entrance that the students sometimes help maintain. It’s not a huge campus, but it has everything we need to function. The staff rooms are always filled with stacks of papers and tea cups.
