Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd. is based at 4/36 Bharati Street in Swarnapuri. We’ve been working out of this location for a long time now. It’s a regular street and our place is just like any other business around here. We deal with marble and granite, which means our yard is always full of big slabs and the smell of wet stone. It gets quite hot in this part of the country, so we try to get the heavy work done early in the day. Our staff is small and we all know each other well. We don't have a big corporate office with a receptionist. Usually, if someone comes in, they just talk to whoever is nearest to the gate. We keep track of everything in our books and try to make sure we don't run out of the popular colors. The marble comes in from different places, and every batch looks a little different, so we spend a lot of time showing people the variations. It’s not a fancy process. We just move the slabs around so people can see the patterns clearly. Sometimes the deliveries are late, and sometimes they come all at once, which makes things a bit chaotic. But we’ve learned to deal with that over the years. We just focus on the stones and making sure they get to where they are supposed to go without any chips or breaks.
