Amman Granite Products

Our place is located at 5/2A on the Salem Main Road over in Kakapalayam. Being on the main road means there is always traffic passing by, which keeps things noisy but active. We’ve got a decent amount of space for all the granite products we keep. It’s mostly outdoor storage because the pieces are so big and heavy. When the sun hits the stones, you can really see the different grains. We spend a lot of time walking around the yard with people who come in. It’s not a fancy showroom or anything like that. Just a work area with plenty of stone and some basic tools. The wind blows the red dirt from the road onto everything, so we spend a lot of time hosing things down. There’s a small shed where we take breaks and keep the ledgers. Kakapalayam is a good spot for this kind of business. We’ve got regulars who know us by name. It’s just a straightforward operation. We wake up early to beat the heat, as it gets quite hot on the main road by noon. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time turning in from the traffic, but we manage. My cousin helps me with the loading when it’s a big order. We don't have a website or anything, just the shop here on the side of the road. People usually just see the sign and pull over. We’ve been here since my father started it.
