Kovai Granites

We are over at 1/87 in Koneripatti Post, which is in the Poolampatti area via Sankari. It's a bit of a drive out here, but we've been here for quite some time now. Kovai Granites is a small setup, mostly just a few of us working the yard and keeping track of the slabs we have. We don't have a big fancy office, just a simple space where we keep our logs and talk to people who drop by. Most of our day is spent outdoors, rain or shine, checking the quality of the granite that comes in from the nearby areas. The ground is a bit uneven and there’s always a bit of gravel everywhere, so it's best to wear sturdy shoes if you come to visit. We don't use any high-tech sorting systems; we just know our stock by heart. If you ask for a specific shade, we can usually point you to the right pile. It’s a very local way of doing things. We know most of our regular customers by name and we don't really do much in the way of advertising. Word of mouth usually brings people to our gate. We just try to be fair and show the stones as they are, without any tricks or special lighting. It's just granite, plain and simple, and we do our best to keep things moving. The village life is quiet, but our yard is always busy with stone.
