About R. V. Granites – Building & Construction Material in Salem
Our place is at number 12 on Rajaji Road in Gugai. It’s an old part of the city and the roads can get pretty narrow around here, especially when we have a truck trying to unload granite. We’ve been in this spot for some time now and most of our neighbors know us by the sound of the stone being moved. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a big showroom with air conditioning or anything like that. Just the slabs of granite leaning up against the walls and a small desk where we keep the books. Most of our work is physical. We’re out there in the heat, moving pieces around so customers can see the veins in the granite. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. Gugai is a tight-knit community, so we see the same faces quite often. People stop by just to chat sometimes while we’re working. We try to keep things organized, but in a granite yard, there’s always a little bit of rubble or dust on the ground. We don’t mind it much. It’s just part of the trade. If you’re looking for us, just head down Rajaji Road and look for the stone. We’re right there in the middle of it all, doing our thing every day. We usually have a bit of tea around four and then get back to moving the slabs.
