Kannurock

Out here in Alagapuram Kattur, we mostly deal with the day-to-day work of managing rock and stone supplies. Our place is simple and doesn’t have those big glass windows you see in the city. It’s more of a practical yard where the trucks come and go. Kattur can get pretty quiet in the afternoons, but we are usually occupied with sorting through what we have. There’s a lot of lifting involved, and the guys are used to the heavy stuff by now. We don't spend money on fancy signs or radio ads because word of mouth around Alagapuram seems to work just fine for us. The yard gets quite hot when the sun is directly overhead, so we take our breaks in the shade of the small office area. Sometimes the deliveries arrive later than we expect, which messes up the schedule, but that’s part of the trade. We just keep the piles organized as best as we can. It’s a lot of physical labor and staying on top of the stock levels. You’ll mostly see us in our work clothes, probably a bit dusty from the stone. We don't have a corporate office with a receptionist, usually, it’s just one of us answering the phone while trying to keep the yard running smoothly. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and know the local roads like the back of our hands.
