About Hi- Tec Granite – Building & Construction Material in Salem
You’ll find us at No. 170 in Sanyasigundu. It’s not a fancy part of town, but it works perfectly for what we do. Granite is heavy and takes up space, and we have plenty of it sitting around in the yard. The air usually smells like wet stone and diesel from the crane we use to move the bigger pieces. We open up early, usually before the sun gets too high and makes the stone too hot to touch. There’s a lot of lifting involved in this job, and our hands are usually calloused. We don’t have a sales team or anyone in a suit. Usually, it’s just one of us wiping down a slab with a wet cloth so a visitor can see the grain properly. We’ve seen a lot of different people walk through that gate over the years. Some know exactly what they want, while others just stare at the piles for an hour trying to decide. We let them take their time. The phone rings a lot, mostly people asking about prices or checking if the delivery truck has left the yard yet. It’s a bit messy here, to be honest. There’s always some stone dust on the desk and the floor. We keep a bottle of water handy because the dust makes your throat dry. Sanyasigundu is a decent place to be based. It’s easy for the big trucks to get in and out.
