We are down in the Kokan region, specifically in Dapoli. Our group is called Kokan Samrudhhi Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited. You can find us through Chandralekha Chandrakant Kalekarat at the post in Karanjani village. This area is beautiful, but the farming can be quite a challenge with the hills and the weather. We are a group of women who decided to join forces. Most of us have small plots of land where we grow whatever the season allows. Being in Tal Dapoli means we are part of a tight community. We meet up in Karanjani to share advice and plan out our harvests. It’s not a corporate office; it’s more like a gathering of friends who all happen to be farmers. We talk about the rain, the pests, and the market prices. Sometimes we have to carry things long distances because the roads aren't great. We don't mind the hard work because it's what we've always known. The name of our company is a bit long, but the idea is simple. We want to see the local women doing well with their crops. We take things one harvest at a time. It’s a humble life here in the Kokan, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We just try to keep the traditions alive while earning a bit more.
