Up at Gat No. 23 in Lodga, that is where Shivshambhuraje Farmers Producer Company Limited is based. We are just a collective of local farmers who live and work right here. Lodga is a quiet place, but the work we do is anything but quiet. It starts early in the morning and usually goes until the sun is long gone. We got together because it was becoming nearly impossible to survive as independent small-scale farmers. Everything from seeds to tools was getting too expensive. By forming this company, we can share the burden. It’s not a polished business with a receptionist; it’s just us meeting in the shed or out in the fields to decide what to do next. We talk about the crops, the pests, and who is going to take the truck into town. It’s a very hands-on way of doing things. We don't use any of those big corporate words. We just say what we mean. If a crop fails, we figure out why and try to do better next time. It’s about looking out for your neighbor because your neighbor is also your business partner now. We hope to keep our community strong and keep our land productive for many years. It’s just us, the soil, and a lot of hard work every day.
