Tokai Agritech Producer Company Limited is located at Girgaon, right at Vijay Ramchandra Nadre’s place, house number 103. We’re a small group of farmers who thought maybe we could use a bit more modern thinking in our daily work. Not that we're trying to change everything, because the old ways have their value too, but things are getting harder every year. We started this because we wanted to see if working as a group would give us a bit more pull. Girgaon is a small place, and everyone knows everyone else’s business anyway, so it made sense to just make it official. We aren't corporate types in suits. Most of the time, our boots are covered in mud and we’re worried about the next pest or if the water will hold out through the dry spell. When we meet up at house 103, it’s usually over a cup of tea, looking at some papers or talking about what seeds worked best last season. We don't have a big mission statement written on a wall. We just want to keep our farms running and maybe learn a few new tricks to stay ahead of the bills. It’s a practical thing, really. No frills, no fancy promises, just a few neighbors trying to do right by their land and each other here in our little corner of the world. It’s tough work, but it’s what we do.
