Ekoagro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based right here in Murud, in the Latur district. We've been operating out of this area for a while now, just focusing on the local farming needs. Latur can be tough for farmers sometimes, especially with the water situations, so having this company helps us stay a bit more organized. It’s not a big flashy operation. We just have our spot in Murud where we meet up and figure out the logistics of what we're growing and how to get it moved. Everyone around here knows how the seasons go. Sometimes it’s a rush and sometimes we're just waiting on the rain. We handle the business side of things so the individual farmers don't have to worry about every little detail themselves. It’s better working as a group than trying to fight the market alone. Our office, if you can call it that, is just a plain space where we keep our records and talk shop. There isn't any big sign or anything, just us getting the work done day in and day out. We started this because we needed a better way to manage the produce coming out of the fields around Latur. It’s honest work, and we keep it simple. We aren't looking to change the world, just trying to make sure the farming life in Murud stays sustainable for the families living here.
