Our art academy is tucked away on the Akurdi Manipal County Road, right off Hosur Road. It’s a place where things are often a bit messy with paint spills on the floor and charcoal dust on the tables, but that’s how an art space should be. We have students of all ages coming in, some just kids wanting to draw and others who are older and looking to pick up a brush for the first time in years. The light in the studio is pretty good in the afternoons, which is when most of the classes happen. We keep a lot of supplies around like easels, canvases, and jars of old brushes. It isn't a high-end gallery, just a working studio where people can come and learn at their own pace. You can hear the noise from Hosur Road in the background, but once you start painting, you kind of stop noticing it. We don't follow a very strict corporate schedule; things are a bit more relaxed here. We spend our time showing people how to mix colors or get the perspective right on a drawing. Sometimes we just sit and talk about art while we work. It’s a nice way to spend the day, surrounded by all the different projects that people are working on. We just provide the space and the materials for anyone who wants to come in and try their hand at making something.
