Sai Baba Photos Paintings

The shop is tucked away in S-14 Dhruvadarshan, right in the middle of Sector 26 in Pradhikaran. Most days, it’s just a lot of measuring and cutting glass for the various frames people bring in. We have quite a collection of Sai Baba paintings leaning against the back wall, which is how we got the name I suppose. It’s not a big fancy place, just enough room for the workbench and a few customers to stand while they look at samples. The floor usually has some wood shavings on it by noon because the broom doesn't get everything. People from around Nigdi stop by with old family photos that have seen better days, asking if we can put them in a nice sturdy frame. It’s quiet work mostly, except when the saw is going. My hands stay pretty rough from the wood and the wires. We don't do much in the way of advertising; people just see the sign when they’re walking to the market or coming home from work. Sometimes the rain gets a bit heavy and we have to move the canvases further back so they don’t get damp. It’s been this way for a while now. We keep the doors open for the breeze, even if the dust comes in with it. It’s just a regular local spot where things get done slowly. We don’t rush the glue drying. The street outside is usually busy with people heading to the market, but inside it’s just the smell of wood and glue. I’ve spent many afternoons just trying to get a corner joint to sit perfectly flush. Sometimes a customer brings in a piece of fabric they want framed. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us. If you come in looking for something specific, you might have to wait while I dig through the back room. It’s a bit cluttered, but I know where the good matte board is hidden. We don't have a computer for the orders, just a little notebook where we write everything down. The fan overhead wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving. People know us for being here. That’s about all there is.
