Moraya Flower Shop is sitting on Central Street in the 5th Block of Bijali Nagar. It’s a small corner spot, and you can usually smell the jasmine and roses before you actually see the sign. We get our flowers delivered fresh pretty early in the morning, so the floor is usually a bit wet from the buckets when we first open up. It’s just a family-run thing. My mother started it and now I handle most of the daily orders. We do bouquets for birthdays and some of the bigger garlands for weddings or local festivals. It gets really crowded in here during the festival season, with petals everywhere and string all over the floor. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just walk in or call us on the landline. We keep a few potted plants outside on the sidewalk too, which helps people find us among all the other shops in Bijali Nagar. Sometimes we run out of the red roses by noon on certain holidays, so we tell people to come early. We use simple brown paper for wrapping mostly. It's a messy job, trimming stems and keeping everything hydrated, but it’s nice being around the colors all day. The neighbors often stop by just to chat for a minute while they’re out on their errands. It’s a quiet life on Central Street, and we like it that way.
