Charugatri Arts

Charugatri Arts is based out of Yogayog in Raikar Colony. We’re over in the Dhairy area, which is a bit of a climb from the main city. It’s quieter up here, which helps when you’re trying to focus on art. The space is number 1 in the building. It’s not a showroom where everything is polished and perfect. It’s a working studio. There’s usually paint on the floor and scraps of material everywhere. We like it that way because it feels real. Sinhgad Road is always packed with traffic, so we try to stay in our little bubble as much as we can. We’ve been at this for a long time. It started as a small project and just grew into what it is today. We don't have a big staff. It’s just a few of us who like making things. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or big signs. People usually find us because someone else told them about us. We spend our days sketching, painting, and putting things together. Sometimes the work is slow and sometimes we’re staying late to finish something. We don't follow a strict corporate clock. If the inspiration is there, we stay. If not, we take a walk. It’s a simple life and we enjoy the freedom of it. We just want to make things that people appreciate, without all the fuss of a big gallery.
