I have a shop in Akurdi, specifically Shop No.78 in the Mayur Samurddhi Complex. It’s on Bhaji Mandai Road, so it’s pretty easy to find if you’re out doing your grocery shopping. Art Creations is where I spend most of my time. We do framing and some art supply sales. It’s a small space, so it’s packed from floor to ceiling with frames, glass, and boards. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside, but we make it work somehow. I’ve been here for a while now and I know most of the people who walk past the shop every morning. I like the bustle of the vegetable market nearby. It makes the day go by fast. People bring in their old photos or new paintings they want to hang up. I help them pick something that looks okay and then I get to work in the back. It’s not a fancy studio. There’s dust from the wood and scraps of paper everywhere. But that’s what a real workshop looks like. I just try to do a solid job so the frame doesn't fall apart after a year or two. It’s a modest business and I’m happy with how things are. We don't have any corporate goals, just a desire to frame things well for the locals in Akurdi.
