Victoria Bar

If you’re walking down M G Road in Pondicherry, you’ll find Victoria Bar at number 320, right near S S Pillai Street. We are quite close to the bus stand, so we get a lot of people who have just arrived in town and are looking for a place to sit for a while. It’s a simple bar, nothing like those upscale lounges you see in the bigger cities. We have our regulars who come in at the same time every day to sit in their favorite chairs and talk about the news. The fans are always spinning to keep the humidity away, and there’s usually a bit of a hum from the street outside. We don't have a massive selection of fancy drinks, just the usual stuff that people ask for. The floor is old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it has a certain feel to it that we like. Running a bar in 605001 has its ups and downs, especially when it gets crowded on weekend nights. Things can get a little loud, but usually, it’s a pretty relaxed place. We aren't trying to be the most popular spot in Pondicherry. We just provide a space for people to have a drink and relax after a long day of work or travel. Just walk in, find a stool, and we’ll get to you when we can. It is just a local spot for a quiet drink.
