Cafe Xtasi

We’re located at 245 Mission Street in Pondicherry, right across from the VOC School. Mission Street is one of those busy streets that always has a lot of people walking by. Our building is an old one, like many others in this part of town, which gives it a bit of character. People mostly know us for our pizzas. We have this big oven that stays hot all day, and it can get pretty warm inside the cafe because of it. We have some fans going, but on a hot Pondicherry afternoon, you’re definitely going to feel the heat. The seating is pretty basic—just wooden tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't really do much in the way of decorations; we just let the place be what it is. It gets very crowded on the weekends with people visiting from out of town, so it can get pretty noisy and hectic. Sometimes there’s a wait for a table, and people just stand on the sidewalk outside waiting for their turn. The staff is used to the rush, though they might look a bit tired by the end of a Saturday night. We try to get the orders out as fast as we can, but good food takes its time. It’s a simple, busy spot that’s been part of the street for a long time now and we plan to stay right here.
