Cafe Des Arts

Cafe Des Arts is located at No 1 Labourdonnais Street in Pondicherry. This is the old part of town where the streets are narrow and the buildings are old. We like it here because it has a certain character that you don't find in newer cities. The building we are in has been around for a long time. We don't use a lot of fancy signs or lights outside. It’s a pretty simple place where we serve coffee and some snacks to travelers and locals. The street outside is usually quiet in the early mornings but gets busier as the sun comes up. We see many people walking by with cameras or just heading to the promenade. We spend our time making sure the coffee is ready and the tables are set before it gets too hot. It’s a small team here. We don’t have a big hierarchy or anything like that. Just some people who know how to run a cafe. Sometimes the humidity in Pondicherry makes everything feel a bit slow, but we keep moving. It’s a good spot to sit when the sun is too much. We don't make a big deal out of things. We just keep the place open and welcome whoever comes in from Labourdonnais Street. It’s a plain and simple business in a nice part of town and we enjoy being here doing this work for the neighborhood.
