Ravikumar Distilleries Limited

Ravikumar Distilleries Limited is located at 17 Kamaraj Salai. It’s a busy place and there’s always something going on near the entrance. We have been here for a while and the building has seen better days, but it serves its purpose. Our day starts early, usually before the sun is fully up, to get the machines going and check the inventory. There is a lot of smell of grain and yeast around here, which you get used to after a week or two. We don't spend money on fancy rugs or modern furniture. Most of our desks are old wooden ones we’ve had for years. We focus on the production side of things mostly. Kamaraj Salai is a good spot for transport, so the trucks can come and go without too much trouble. I spend a lot of time in the back making sure the bottles are moving right on the line. Sometimes a belt breaks and we all have to jump in to fix it. We have a small staff and everyone knows each other’s business. It’s not a corporate environment where people wear suits every day. We wear what’s comfortable and gets the job done. If a customer calls, they usually talk to me or my brother. We just try to keep the quality steady and the deliveries on time. It is a lot of repetitive work, but it’s honest and it keeps the lights on for everyone.
