Cafe Ole

Mission Street in Pondicherry is where we are, and it stays busy pretty much all day long. Being next to the Subway means there are always people walking past our door, looking for something to eat or just window shopping. Mission Street has a certain rhythm to it, and we’ve become a part of that over time. The place isn't very big, but we try to keep it comfortable for whoever drops in. Some days it’s mostly tourists who are lost or looking for a rest, and other days it’s just the locals who live around the 605001 area. We spend our mornings getting everything sorted out before the sun gets too hot. It can get quite humid here, so the shade our building provides is something we appreciate. No big corporate team is behind us, just a few of us making sure the chairs are straight and the floors are swept. A lot of businesses have come and gone on this street, but we’re still here at number 319. It’s a lot of work running a small shop like this, but we like the routine of it. You get to know the street vendors and the regulars who walk by every morning. If you’re walking down toward the beach or just running errands near the shops, you’ll probably see us there. It’s just a normal spot for normal people to spend a few minutes and take a small break from the noise of the city. We keep the doors open and the floors clean for anyone passing by.
