Ujjawal Jeevan Foundation

Our foundation is based out of Ward number 43 in Bishunpur. You can find us right along the road that leads up to the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. We are staying at Dropati Devi’s place, which is just a regular home that we use for our operations. It is not a polished corporate office with a lobby or a receptionist. Mostly it is just us sitting around a few tables getting through the paperwork. The Ujjawal Jeevan Foundation has been here for some time and we have gotten used to the rhythm of the school traffic nearby. The road gets pretty busy in the mornings when the students are heading in, but it stays quiet enough for us to work the rest of the time. We don't really do much in the way of advertising or trying to look bigger than we are. It is just a straightforward setup in a normal neighborhood. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the chairs aren't the newest, but it serves us well for what we need to do. We prefer staying here in Bishunpur because it feels real and grounded. Most of the neighbors know who we are and they see us coming and going every day. It is a simple life for us here on the road to the vidyalaya, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
