Abhilasha Pariwar Swyamsevi Sanstha is located in the Mirchaibari mohalla of Katihar. Our office is right here in the heart of the district. It’s a busy neighborhood with a lot of houses packed close together. We have a small space that we use for our daily operations. It’s nothing special, just a room with some basic furniture and a place to keep our records. Katihar can get quite dusty, so we are always cleaning the desks. We spend most of our time out in the community, talking to families and seeing what’s going on. When we are in the office, we are usually catch up on the administrative side of things. It’s just a few of us running the show. We don't have a big corporate structure. If something needs to be done, one of us just does it. We’ve had this spot in Mirchaibari for quite some time, and people know they can find us here if they need anything. The mail comes to the local post office and then finds its way to us. We keep our doors open for anyone who wants to drop in and chat. It’s a very grounded way of working. We aren't looking for fame, just trying to be a steady presence in the lives of the people around here. It’s a lot of small tasks that add up over the weeks and months. We just keep at it, day in and day out, without any fancy talk.
