Sustainable Rural Initiatives Foundation

Our group is based at House Number 20, which belongs to Narayan Sinha. We’re right on Jheelganj Road, near that big Pipal tree by Devi Asthan in Gaya. It’s a landmark everyone knows. We started this foundation to look after the rural parts around here. There are so many small villages that don't get much attention. We aren't some big NGO from a city. We live right here in Gaya. Most of us have roots in the countryside, so we know what it’s like. We spend our days going out to see what the farmers and families need. It might be something to do with their crops or just basic stuff for the kids. We don't have a fancy office, just a room at Narayan's place. We sit under the trees and talk about what we can do next. It's slow work and we don't always have the answers right away. We use our own bikes and cars to get around. We aren't looking for praise. We just want to see the rural areas get a bit more support. It’s a lot of walking and talking to people. Sometimes we get tired, but then we see a small change and it keeps us going. We’ve been at this for a while now and the neighbors know us. We don't have a lot of paperwork. We prefer to spend our time out in the fields rather than sitting behind a desk. It feels more real that way. Gaya is a big place, but we focus on the small corners. We hope that being close to the ground makes a difference.
