Sumiwar Welfare Foundation

Deepak Kumar runs things here at the Sumiwar Welfare Foundation and we have been at this spot on Ram Lakhan Path for a while now. The office is on the first floor of Sumitra Sadan, right in the Ashok Nagar area. If you know Road Number 8, you can find us pretty easily. It is just a regular building, nothing fancy, with neighbors all around doing their own thing. Sometimes the traffic on the path gets a bit loud during the middle of the day, but we manage. We spend most of our time dealing with local stuff that comes up. People drop by often just to talk or see what is happening. It is a busy part of Patna and there is always something going on outside the windows. We started this because there was a lot to be done right here in our own backyard. Usually, we are just working through paperwork or meeting people from the neighborhood who need a hand with something. It isn’t a big corporate setup at all. Most of the furniture is old and the tea is always hot. We know the shopkeepers nearby and they know us. Being in Ashok Nagar feels right because it is central. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us trying to keep things moving forward every day. We do not really do big speeches or anything like that. We just show up at the office, open the doors, and see what the day brings.
