Our place is in Karanpur, which is a small part of Hajipur. Lalti Devi is the one who looks after things here. If you are looking for us, you have to go into the Tola-Karanpur area. It’s not hard to find if you ask the locals for directions. We don’t have a big sign or a fancy building. It’s just a regular house where we do our work. The foundation is a small group of us trying to help where we can. We sit in a small room with a few old chairs. There’s a lot of grass and some trees outside, which is nice when it’s hot. We don’t have air conditioning, so we just leave the windows open. Sometimes the dust from the road comes in, but we do not mind much. We know everyone in the village by name. Most of our day is spent listening to people who stop by. We don't have a big corporate plan or anything like that. We just take things as they come. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we move our chairs outside to the porch. It’s a quiet way to work. We have some notebooks where we write everything down. We don’t use fancy software. It’s just us, some pens, and a lot of talk with the neighbors. We try to be useful to the people around us in Panch-Kernpura. It's a simple life and we like it that way.
