About Sangyan Sewa Council – Charity & Non Profit Organisations in Patna
Sangyan Sewa Council operates out of Village Akbarpur Baik. If you are looking for us, we are at Dilip Acharya’s place in the Tola-Akbarpur Baik area. It is part of the Panch Akbarpur Benk. This is a small community where everyone basically knows what everyone else is doing. We are not a formal, stiff organization. We are just a group of people from the village who wanted to do something useful. Our meetings usually happen on a porch or in a small room with the windows open to catch the breeze. We don't have a big budget for advertising, so most people find out about us by word of mouth. That’s how things work in Akbarpur. We spend a lot of our time just talking to the local families and seeing what they need help with. It could be something small like helping an elder with their medicine or something bigger like organizing a clean-up. We don’t have a set schedule every day because things change. Sometimes a cow gets loose or someone’s roof needs fixing and we just help out. It’s a very informal way of doing things but it works for us. We like the fact that we can just be ourselves and help our neighbors without having to act like we are in a corporate office. It’s just the way life goes in our part of the world and we enjoy being here.
