Ritjay Charitable Foundation

Ritjay Charitable Foundation is situated over in Jhali Ashochak, which is part of the 800007 area in Patna. We operate out of Anita Singh’s place. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the main city center, which is nice when we have a lot of work to get through. We aren't a massive charity with hundreds of employees. It’s actually just a few of us who care about the local community. The office is pretty basic—just some desks, some old filing cabinets, and a kettle for tea. Most of our day is spent on the phone or talking to people who walk in. We don't have a lot of rules about how things should look; we just focus on getting things done. Patna is a busy place, and there is always someone needing a bit of help with something. We try to be the people they can come to. It’s not fancy work, and we don't pretend it is. We just keep our records at the house and try to be useful. Sometimes the power goes out, or the road gets muddy after the rain, but we still show up. It’s just how it is around here. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time and the foundation is just our way of staying involved. We are just simple people doing our bit.
