Mahila Sishu Evam Jan Vikash Samiti

Our group, Mahila Sishu Evam Jan Vikash Samiti, is located at house number 242 in Kaushal Nagar. You have to take Murgi Farm Road in Patna-1 to get to us. It’s a busy area and finding parking can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes, but it’s where the people are. Manoj Kumar is the one who usually handles the main things at the office. We focus on the women and children in the neighborhood because they often have the hardest time getting by. The office is basically a small room where we pile up supplies and sit around a big table to talk. It gets quite hot in Patna during the summer, so the cooler is always running. Kids from the nearby houses often peek in to see what’s going on. We don’t have a big budget or fancy equipment. Most of what we do is just talking to families, helping them with school forms, or organizing small health checks. It’s simple, grassroots stuff. The road outside is always dusty and there's a lot of noise from the nearby shops, but we've gotten used to it over the years. We aren't a big international NGO with millions of dollars. We’re just a local group trying to make the day-to-day life a bit easier for the folks living in Kaushal Nagar. It’s hard work and some days are better than others, but seeing a kid get into a good school makes it all worth the effort.
