We are based in the Gardanibagh area, specifically over at Indrapuri Sipararamdas Bhawan. Umesh Kumar is the one who handles most of the day-to-day things here. Our foundation isn't tucked away in some high-rise building. We are right in the middle of the neighborhood, which is exactly how we like it. Gardanibagh has a lot of history and a lot of families who have been here for generations. We’re part of that fabric now. It started out as a small idea among a few of us who wanted to see some local changes. Now, the Maa Aparajita Jagiriti Foundation is just a regular part of life around the Bhawan. We don't have a professional PR person or anything like that. If we have something to say, we just say it to our neighbors. The work we do is practical. It's about looking at what’s broken and trying to find a way to fix it without waiting for someone else to show up. Sometimes it's hard work, and sometimes things don’t go exactly as planned, but we keep at it. It’s a very human way of running a foundation. We use simple English and talk to people in the local language too. There’s no corporate ladder here, just a group of people who care about Indrapuri and the surrounding streets.
