Lokjagarn Foundation

Lokjagarn Foundation is based out of Abhianta Nagar in the Ashiana area. We are over at Sri Pankaj Kumar Mukul’s place, right in the east part of the neighborhood. It is a residential spot, so there are always neighbors walking around or kids coming home from school. Being in Khajpura means we are close to everything but still in a real community. We aren't some big fancy organization with a lobby and security. It is more like a home office where we keep our files and meet up. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we just walk or take a rickshaw to get together. We talk about local issues and how to help out. It is very informal. Sometimes we have tea on the porch while we discuss what needs to be done next. Pankaj Kumar Mukul helps keep us on track with everything. We don’t have a lot of rules about how we work, we just try to be practical and solve things as they come. If someone has a problem, they usually know who to call. It is that kind of atmosphere. We have grown to know the streets of Ashiana pretty well over the years. It is a good place to be. We aren’t trying to be anything we aren’t, just a group of locals trying to do some good work from a house in Abhianta Nagar. There is always someone around if you want to talk.
