We are located over at Sri Mithilesh Sharma’s place in Village Raghopur. If you are looking for Karunodaya Foundation, just head to Ward 2 in the Raghopur Panchayat, which is part of the Bihta block in Patna. It is a quiet area for the most part, and we like being tucked away in the village rather than in the middle of the city. Being out here means we actually see what is happening in the rural parts of Bihar. We are not some big city group with a lot of funding. We are just local people who decided to organize ourselves under this name. Most of our days are spent talking to farmers and families in the Tola. We hear about their struggles and we try to see where our foundation can fit in. It is very basic work, mostly just helping people navigate things they find difficult. We don't have a fancy website or a PR person. If you want to know about us, you just come to the village and ask around. We sit on the porch and talk through ideas. It is slow work sometimes, but it feels right. We don't pretend to have all the answers. We just try to help out with whatever comes up in Ward 2. It’s a simple life and simple work, but it feels important to the people who live here. We’re just glad to be a part of it.
